Stage 1: The quote
Before we can give you a price, we need to understand the full scope of your project. This means a conversation about your space, the material direction you’re considering, the number of cut-outs, the edge profile, and the site access. For a straightforward project with measurements already to hand, this stage can move very quickly. For more complex projects or where details are still being worked out with a cabinet maker or builder, it may take a few exchanges to get everything we need.
Once we have what we need, we turn quotes around promptly. We don’t leave enquiries sitting unanswered.
Stage 2: The template measure
Once you’re happy with the quote and ready to proceed, we book a template measure at your property. One of our stonemasons visits the site, takes precise measurements, and confirms all the details before fabrication begins. The template measure can only happen once the cabinetry is in and the space is ready, so if you’re mid-renovation, this stage is tied to your broader project timeline.
Booking the template measure requires coordinating with the stonemason’s schedule, which is usually straightforward but can be affected by their existing workload.
Stage 3: Fabrication
After the template measure, your silica-free benchtop is fabricated to the exact specifications captured on site. This stage is where the material is cut, edged, and finished. Fabrication time depends on the job’s complexity, the number of cut-outs, and the selected edge profile.
Stage 4: Installation
Installation day is when the finished benchtop is delivered and fitted. For this to go smoothly, the old benchtop needs to already be removed, the sink needs to be disconnected, and the cooktop needs to be out. These are tasks for your plumber and electrician, and coordinating them in advance is the most effective way to keep your installation day on track.
What a Realistic End-to-End Timeline Looks Like
For a straightforward residential project where the cabinetry is already in place, and the client has measurements ready, the process from first enquiry to completed installation can move very quickly. The overall timeline from first contact to installation typically depends far more on where you are in your renovation than on anything on our end. If your cabinetry isn’t in yet, or your plumber isn’t booked, those factors will determine when your benchtop goes in, not us.

We want to be straightforward: in this industry, something almost always comes up. It’s rarely anything serious, but it’s worth knowing.
The client wants the install on a Tuesday, and it needs to be a Wednesday. The measure needs to happen earlier than the cabinet maker is ready for. The plumber hasn’t confirmed availability for the reconnection. These small scheduling mismatches are a normal part of any renovation project, and managing them through clear communication is a large part of what we do.
