Stone Benchtops Direct
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have a question about our stone benchtops?
Our FAQ’s below can help answer those for you.
How much will my benchtop cost?
How long does it take to install my benchtop and splashbacks?
Typically your benchtop and splashback installation can take place 5-10 working days after the check measure. For a simple one slab benchtop, you should allow up to half a day for installation with larger jobs requiring a full day or even more depending on the size of the job.
How do I best prepare for the installation?
The best way to prepare for the installation is to ensure all new appliances are on-site and water and gas is disconnected where applicable. Due to OH&S requirements, the stonemasons are required to wear their boots on site so it is advisable to protect your flooring with a drop sheet. The drop sheet will also protect from any dirty water or glue splatter. The stonemasons will do their best to leave the area in the same condition as they found it.
What is the best stone for me?
This depends on personal choice and what the stone is being used for. For example, if you need a benchtop for an outdoor BBQ that is exposed to a lot of sunlight it would not be advisable to use Engineered Stone as it will fade over time. A natural stone such as granite may be advisable. Alternatively, if you are looking for a stone for an indoor benchtop that requires little care and maintenance Engineered Stone may be a suitable option.
When quoting we can provide guidance on the different stone options and their suitability for different surfaces.

What is Titan Stone?
Titan Stone is our own brand of top quality Engineered Stone and is available for large projects.
What is more expensive, Engineered Stone or Natural Stone?
Engineered Stone colours are separated into ranges which are all priced differently. Natural Stone can also have large variations in price depending on colour and quality. We are happy to provide comparison quotes if you have several types and colour choices in mind for your stone.
How do I clean my benchtop?
Engineered Stone:
Engineered stone requires very little maintenance. Warm soapy water and a clean damp cloth are best for everyday cleaning. Don’t use you’re your dishwashing cloth as it may transfer oils and other contaminants to the stone surface.
For more thorough cleaning we recommend the use of a cream cleanser and a non-scratch foam scrub.
Natural Stone:
It is important you only use pH neutral cleaner. Any acidic cleaners will etch many natural stones. You can purchase specialized pH stone cleaners.
