However, before you can enjoy your new stone benchtop, you will need to have it installed.
Here is what you can expect when having stone benchtops installed.
Engineered and natural stone is heavy, so ensure the path to the installation point is free of obstacles.
Plan other activities like painting, flooring, etc, on days that will not crawl into the day for the stone benchtop installation. Should other home renovation works stand in the way of the installation, the job will be planned for another time, but a fee for the return trip will be included in the overall cost.
Sometimes, the stone is cut, ground or polished on the installation site. This activity produces dust. But we will mitigate the dust production. So we advise that adults and kids suffering from respiratory illnesses avoid the installation site to keep their health safe.
There may be a smell coming from the epoxies and other resins that will be used during installation. So, ensure there is sufficient ventilation by keeping windows open. Get ready for rough weather.
Sinks, Taps & Electricity
For proper installation of sinks, the cabinet is usually cut or altered during installation.
Disconnect all electrical units, gas and plumbing channels on the day of installation. After fitting, benchtops usually need to stay overnight to set properly. However, the maximum setting time is 24 hours, after which fixtures can be reconnected.
While we will install sinks and boreholes for the taps, you bear the responsibility of calling in an expert to get utilities and fixtures up and running again.
It is recommended that our installed work be tested for performance and quality during installation for the best customer service.
Other important considerations
Kindly note that children and animals should not be allowed into the site on the day of installation. You can make plans for them to be somewhere else.
Take off any loose carpet from the floor. Maintain a dry floor surface.
Free the workspace of any artistic work or item that’s not needed.
We suggest that you allow the sealant on the benchtop enough time to absorb and cure before using it for meal preparation. Give it 48 hours.
